Open Context is listed in the Claude connector directory, so connecting takes a few clicks — no URLs to paste and no configuration file to edit.
Add from the connector directory
Sign in to Open Context
Make sure you have an account at opnctx.ai. You’ll authorize access to it in a moment.
Open the connector directory
In Claude, click your name icon and choose Settings (or Customize), go to Connectors, click the Add button in the upper right, then choose Browse connectors.
Search for Open Context — the listing appears as OpenContext, published by FOUND Studios LLC, with a Community badge.

Connect
Open the listing and click Connect. The detail page lists all 21 tools the connector provides.

You can also jump straight to it: claude.ai/directory/connectors/open-context-opnctx-mcp

Approve access
Claude opens a browser prompt to sign in at opnctx.ai and approve access. Review the permissions and click Allow Access.

Confirm it’s connected
Back in Settings → Connectors, OpenContext now shows a checkmark.

Verify the connection
Ask Claude: “What was the last thing I stashed?” — Claude will call the Open Context tools and return results from your Library.

If tools stop working, go to Settings → Connectors, disconnect Open Context, and reconnect — this reruns the OAuth flow.
What to try first
| Prompt | What happens |
|---|---|
| ”What was the last thing I stashed?” | Calls get_last_stash |
| ”Search my library for [topic]“ | Calls search_library |
| ”What do you know about me?” | Calls get_profile |
| ”Save this to my library: [text]“ | Calls stash_content |
For the full tool list see MCP tools reference.
Selective saving
Paste a system prompt so Claude knows when to save automatically: Prompt for selective saving.
Adding it manually instead
If the directory is unavailable to you, Claude also accepts the server URL directly — Settings → Connectors → Add → Add custom connector, then enter https://mcp.opnctx.ai. See Any MCP client for the full manual path.
